What's happening at Sameem Associates: www.bit.ly/sosdrugs or www.sosdrugs.#Group therapy is an option that can beas effective as individual sessions.#Group therapy is a modality that reduces #anxiety as opposed to individual therapy that can increase anxiety. Individual therapy forces the patient to come up with issues to talk about for the entire session. If the patient is not sure what to say it puts pressure on the patient = escalated anxiety.Group therapy allows the patient to talk when they feel they have something to say. They are only in the "spotlight" when they put themselves in it thus=reduced anxiety. Group therapy is a broad term for any type of therapy with two or more people . The goals are aimed at creating symptom reduction and recovery with support from others. Along with #individual therapy, family therapy, and medication management, group therapy is an essential element of effective addiction and mental health treatment. A trained leader conducts the group therapy session .Members in the group typically do not have a preexisting relationship outside of the session. Relationships are built within the group setting as the treatment progresses.Group therapy sessions can be conducted in varied therapeutic settings and for different levels of care.

New position at Sameem Associates, Inc.I am proud to announce my new position at Sameem Associates, Inc; Chief Clinical Officer. I am excited to be working with our new Executive Director, Jim Reynolds who share the passion I have in the complicated work of Addiction Treatment. This new position and partnership with JIm Reynolds will allow me to expand our treatment strategies to a larger population of people in need by expanding our footprint throughout the state. It will also allow me to work with more graduate school interns, preparing them to address patients with Addictive Disorders as well as other psychiatric problems. As Clinical Director at Sameem Associates, I want to share a new affiliation our clinic has with Committee for #Physician Health (CPH) A division of the #medical Medical Society of the State of New York. Sameem Associates will be Monitoring Reports and collecting observed urine toxicology samples from physicians who are participating in the CPH program. The purpose to help facilitate case management and advocacy efforts for impaired physicians. Sameem continues to be affiliated with Physician Health Services (PHS) a program of the Mass. Medical Society providing #treatment, monitoring and observed urine toxicology collections for impaired physicians participating in the program.
