How the Doordash Rewards Mastercard Stacks Up

DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® vs. Citi Double Cash® Card

The Citi Double Cash® Card offers 2% cash back on all purchases—1% when purchases are made and another 1% when they’re paid off. There are no limits to the amount of cash back you can earn, but you do have to pay the required minimum payment on time.

The rewards earned are in the form of Citi ThankYou Points which can be transferred to various travel partners like and Air France/KLM Flying Blue. Rewards for the DoorDash card cannot be converted to travel partners.

Neither card charges an annual fee but the Double Cash card certainly offers a more stream-lined earning rate which could result in more savings for all but those who spend a chunk of change on DoorDash and Caviar services.

DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® vs. Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card

The Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card earns 2% cash rewards on purchases and offers a $0 annual fee, 0% intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases and qualifying balance transfers, then a 20.24%, 25.24%, or 29.99% variable APR applies. Balance transfers made within 120 days qualify for the intro rate and fee of 3% (min. $5) then a fee of up to 5% (min. $5) applies. There’s also a welcome bonus of $200 cash rewards bonus after spending $500 in purchases in the first 3 months.

Without the hassle of tracking categories and worrying about reward caps, the card’s unlimited, flat-rate 2% cash rewards on purchases makes it ideal for every kind of shopper.

DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® vs. Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express

Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express is a target option for saving on everyday expenses without an annual fee (terms apply, see rates & fees). In addition to a welcome bonus of a $200 statement credit after spending $2,000 on purchases within the first 6 months, this card also allows you to earn 3% cash back at U.S. supermarkets, U.S. gas stations, and online retail purchases in the U.S. (on up to $6,000 in each category per year in purchases, then 1%), and 1% cash back on other purchases. Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be easily redeemed for statement credits or at Amazon.com checkout.

This credit card is ideal for savings not only on food but on gas and credits for streaming services. However, rewards outside the specified categories earn only 1% cash back, just like the rewards rate for the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard.

Is the Doordash Rewards Mastercard for You?

If you order food weekly from Doordash or Caviar, then the Doordash Rewards Mastercard is an appetizing option. This card will also serve non-dashers looking to maximize DoorDash rewards and enjoy a full year of free membership to DashPass.

However, if your biggest expenses are outside of food orders and deliveries, you might want to reconsider adding this card to your collection.

Methodology

Forbes Advisor considers a variety of criteria when assigning credit cards a rating. Cards are graded based on numerous factors including:

  • Annual fees
  • Welcome bonus offers
  • Ongoing earning rates
  • Value of individual points of miles
  • Included travel or merchant credits
  • Additional cardholder benefits

Card features we expect cardholders to use the most often are weighted more heavily in our ratings. Altogether, the factors came together to provide a star rating for each individual card.
